   The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that surgeons and physicians, including anesthesia providers, can expect a 3 percent job growth from 2021 to 2031. As the volume and complexity of surgical procedures continue to grow, anesthesia providers are expected to be in demand. Several factors influence this:

   Aging population. As the older adult population increases, there’s a greater need for medical interventions, including surgeries and procedures that require anesthesia. Older patients may have multiple comorbidities and require specialized care, and anesthesia plays a crucial role in managing their unique needs.

    Non-operating room anesthesia (NORA). In recent years, the scope of anesthesia has expanded beyond traditional operating room settings. Anesthesia is often used in interventional radiology, gastrointestinal procedures, and pain management, which has created new opportunities and increased the need for anesthesia providers in various healthcare settings.
